Youth Week celebrates all things youth related with an action-packed week full of youth events, workshops and activities which take place across the region.

The theme for this year is: We are the Future.

SmokeFree Rockquest

Smokefreerockquest is New Zealand's only nationwide, live, original music, youth event.  The regions finest youth bands and performers will once again battle it out over consecutive weekends, vying to be crowned as Nelson-Tasman champion, and progress to the national finals. 

Barnardos Nelson Safe Haven Project – Slogan Competition

If you are from Nelson/Tasman or live in the area, get your slogan ‘To stop bullying behaviour’ in before the end of Youth Week. The top slogan's will win a $25 voucher and turned into wrist bands. Get your catchy slogan or sentence in today! Text, Facebook or email.

Barnardos Nelson Safe Haven Project – Pink Shirt Day Selfie Competition

Get your mates in a selfie for Pink Shirt Day and be into win sweet prizes -   prizes for the most pink, most creative, most numbers in a selfie, as well as spot prizes.  Enter by using this hash tag with your photo on Facebook #nelsonsafe or email.

If you would like to create a design that symbolises to you the theme of youth week or want to make a beautiful and individual art work in a space where the public will get to view and appreciate your work then please come along to this session as we would love to have you there. No previous experience of chalk drawing or art making necessary, just a desire to create.  We will have hot drinks and food available to keep you warm!

Motueka Library Teen Book group presents: Youth Week Scavenger Hunt

Get on board this Youth Week with the Nelson Youth Council’s Quiz night. A fun night where students from all schools in Nelson can compete to win some amazing prizes. SVS Living Safe in partnership with The Rites of Passage Foundation (Tracks/Tides) is offering a free Music Camp for youth aged 9-13. The focus of the camp will be creating music and performance around the themes of bullying prevention. Spaces are limited and not guaranteed.
